Inventory, levels, crates and cosmetics

Every account level you gain gives you a free Supply Crate with a cosmetic inside. There's nothing to buy, no duplicates, and cosmetics never change how a weapon or class plays.

Where your inventory lives

Open Player Profile → INVENTORY in the game. The top shows YOUR ACCOUNT LEVEL, your XP bar and how many crates are waiting. It has four sections: COLLECTION, SUPPLY CRATES, HISTORY and SKIN PACKS, plus REFRESH.

Earn XP and level up

  • XP comes from playing matches: time in the match, finishing it, winning (or drawing), combat, objectives and support. A single match gives at most 2,000 XP.
  • You need at least 30 seconds of active play against at least one opponent (human or bot). Finishing a round and the win bonus need about 3 minutes of play.
  • Full XP comes from servers AoSPlay trusts for statistics. Matches hosted from Create Match earn 25%.
  • No XP: Local Match, the Tutorial, Map Creator, spectating and idling.
  • Levels never cap. Level 2 needs 1,000 XP, and each level costs 250 XP more than the last, up to 10,000 XP per level from level 37 on.
  • Guests earn XP and crates too, but must register an AoSPlay account to equip cosmetics.

Open a Supply Crate

  1. Go to SUPPLY CRATES

Player Profile → INVENTORY → SUPPLY CRATES. Select a sealed crate.

  2. Check the odds (optional)

Each crate shows your current odds and how many openings are left until a guaranteed Rare, Epic or Legendary.

  3. Press OPEN … CRATE · FREE

The result is saved before the animation starts. SKIP ANIMATION jumps straight to it.

  4. See your item

NEW ITEM ACQUIRED shows what you got. It's already in your COLLECTION.

Crate types (the type rotates with each level: Weapon, Character, Cosmetic, then again)

WEAPON CRATECommunity weapon models, with their own animations and sights.
CHARACTER CRATECharacter skins for your classes.
COSMETIC CRATEWorld objects and tombstones (what's left when you die).

  • No duplicates. You can never get an item you already own. If a rarity has nothing left for you, its chance goes to the others.
  • Guarantees are counted separately for each crate type.
  • Own everything a crate can give? It stays sealed and shows COLLECTION COMPLETE.
  • Crates never expire. What a crate can contain is fixed when you earn it.
  • Every opening has a receipt under HISTORY that the game can verify, and a dropped connection mid-opening gives you the same item when you reconnect.

Preview and equip

  • Filter COLLECTION by type (weapon models, characters, death models, world objects), by rarity, and OWNED or ALL ITEMS. Items you don't have yet say EARN FROM CRATES.
  • The preview turns the model: drag to rotate, scroll to zoom, switch BLUE/GREEN to see team colours, RESET the view.
  • Weapon skins: REPLACES shows which weapons it fits. Pick the weapon slot and press EQUIP WEAPON. Some skins have a choice of sights or barrels (RESET VARIANTS puts them back).
  • Character skins: choose the class in PLAYER CLASS, then EQUIP. Each class keeps its own skin.
  • Tombstones and world objects: EQUIP APPEARANCE.
  • UNEQUIP goes back to the original look.

In Settings → MAIN, Show skins and Show other players' skins let you turn cosmetics off on your screen.

Trading and gifting

Not supported. Items and crates stay on the account that earned them: there's no trading, gifting, marketplace, selling or crafting.

Common questions

Can I buy crates or keys?

No. There is nothing to buy. Crates come only from levelling up and always open for free.

Why didn't a match give me XP?

Check that you played at least 30 seconds against an opponent, that it wasn't a Local Match or Tutorial, and that the server counts statistics. Results can take a moment to arrive; press REFRESH in the inventory.

Where do the skins come from?

They're community-made models, credited to their original creators. See Community skins.
