Ace of Spades download: the Beta 0.1 client
The revival does not redistribute the original game. What you download is the new BattleSpades client (and, if you want to host, the BattleSpades server); the original art, sound and maps come from your own copy of Ace of Spades: Battle Builder.

Install in two minutes
- 01Extract the whole ZIP
Use a folder you can write to, such as
Documents\BattleSpades, notProgram Files. - 02Start the game
Open
binand runBattleSpadesClient.exe. The build is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may ask: More info → Run anyway. - 03Import your game files
The asset installer finds your Steam copy of Ace of Spades, or asks for the folder, and copies what it needs once.

System requirements
- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. It is the only tested client release; Linux and macOS client packages are on the roadmap.
- No extra runtimes. No separate runtime or Visual C++ redistributable is needed; everything is in the ZIP.
- Graphics: the client includes a RETAIL graphics tier that looks like the original game; see Controls and settings.
Playing without the new client
If you already have Ace of Spades installed, you don't strictly need a download to play: the unmodified Steam game and the old non-Steam client both join BattleSpades servers. The new client adds the server browser for revival servers, friends, lobbies and cosmetics. See Ace of Spades on Steam.
Common questions
Is the Ace of Spades download free?+
The BattleSpades client and server are free. You need your own copy of Ace of Spades: Battle Builder for the original game files; the revival never ships or downloads them.
Is there a Mac or Linux version?+
Not as a client release yet; Beta 0.1 is Windows x64. The BattleSpades server does run on Windows, Linux and macOS.
Why does Windows warn me about the program?+
The beta build isn't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows a warning for new programs. Choose More info → Run anyway if you downloaded it from an official link.
